Match Names on Two Excel Sheets with VLOOKUP – Create Unique ID in Excel

How to match and compare names from two different Excel spreadsheets using VLOOKUP // In this example, we have a master spreadsheet of employee names and then a tracking spreadsheet with the employee names who have completed a task and we want to match the names on the master spreadsheet so we can see who still needs to complete the task. We use VLOOKUP and column filters to accomplish this. Then we look at how to create a column of unique identifiers if one does not already exist on both sheets, so we can use VLOOKUP.
