In this video, I’m breaking down what I call the 7 levels of fragrance—because once I got deeper into perfume (and no, I was not a perfume girly my whole life… it’s only been about 5–6 years), I realized there are definitely levels to this. From “flops” all the way to “masterpieces,” I explain what separates each tier and I give examples—even for scents I don’t personally love. And yes, disclaimer: it’s all opinion, but game recognized game, and I’m going to call a spade a spade. I start with flops, which for me is less about “bad” and more about what the fragrance does on the market—especially flankers that feel redundant or disconnected from the OG. Then we get into cult favorites (the ride-or-die bottles), breakout stars that sparked full-on trends, and mid-tier mainstays that moved from niche hype into repeatable, scalable popularity. From there, I talk main stars and icons—fragrances that define a DNA, spawn trends, and stay on everybody’s top lists. Finally, I reserve “masterpiece” for true legends—fragrances with craftsmanship, longevity in the culture, and a level of impact that’s hard to touch. I also talk about why popularity doesn’t cancel greatness (yes, I’m still riding for Baccarat Rouge).
