About This Video

Margaret River Day 2 was honestly a full-on day, even with the stormy weather. We woke up to rain (I swear I bring clouds everywhere—my name literally means “cloud” in Chinese characters), tried to brave the beach for a second, then decided coffee first. We went to White Elephant Cafe near our accommodation and kept it simple with burgers. The food was lowkey average for us, and I didn’t love the coffee—mine tasted really bitter, almost like burnt. If you’re staying nearby you can get a discount though, so it can be worth it for convenience. After that we drove through the wet “bush” to Amelia Park Winery, and this was the highlight for me. The wine tasting is $20 each, you can pick what you want to try, and if you buy a bottle they take the $20 off—so it feels really fair. It was quiet, the tasting area was a perfect size, and the panoramic view was beautiful (even in the rain). I chose a Malbec because I’m more of a red drinker, but I don’t like super dry reds—this one had a jammy flavor that softened the dryness. We finished the day at Margaret River Brewhouse with food like wings and enjoyed just relaxing back at the apartment while the rain kept going.
