In this video, I’m trying a box of Korean childhood snacks that Hanpoom very kindly sent to us. We got to choose what we wanted, and I picked things I used to have back in Korea when I was in elementary school—so it’s basically a little nostalgia trip, but with John’s reactions in the mix. Hanpoom have recently started shipping to Australia, and honestly the delivery was so quick, which made me even more excited to open everything up and just start tasting. We taste-test a bunch of classics and some “what in the world is that?” moments too—like the popping candy (I hate popping candy… no thank you), and a chocolate that weirdly looked like jelly. There’s also a red bean surprise that got a very dramatic reaction. My favorite part was revisiting the little biscuit snack I have such a fond memory of—some people say it reminds them of the military, but I hadn’t had it since Korea, so we tried it the “right way” with milk (and even strawberry jam).
