Today I’m reviewing Shadid by Tauer Perfumes, and this is not a typical fragrance review. This video is also about bias, expectation, and how a negative experience with a brand can shape the way we perceive a perfume long before the scent even hits skin. Shadid was originally released as a limited edition, and that was the version I bought. Now that it has been re-released, I wanted to revisit it with complete honesty and talk about something that does not get discussed enough in fragrance culture: the feeling of disappointment or even betrayal when a brand changes the meaning of a release, and how that emotional context can affect our judgment. Because the truth is, Shadid is a good fragrance. It smells rugged, dry, animalic, and atmospheric — like riding a horse through the desert, surrounded by dust, leather, heat, and motion. It is a scent with real presence, and a great example of how Tauer Perfumes can create fragrances that feel vivid, transportive, and full of narrative. Fragrance options mentioned in this video: - Amouage Silver Oud - The Spirit of Dubai Oud - Louis Vuitton Nouveau Monde Let me know in the comments: has a brand’s decision ever changed the way you experienced a fragrance, even when the scent itself was great? #tauer #andytauer #shadid #tauerperfumes #nichefragrance #nicheperfume #fragrancereview #perfumereview #artisticperfumery #animalicfragrance #desertperfume #luxuryfragrance #fragrancecommunity #indiefragrance #perfumereview Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 6:33 Presentation 12:48 Scent profile 20:37 Practicalities 25:12 Options 29:16 Conclusions
