I keep taking my prenatals postpartum because when baby comes out, everything comes out with them—your nutrients, all of it. I’m trying to support my body, especially with things like hair changes and skin acting up. Staying on prenatals and drinking water is just part of my routine.

Pros

  • +Supports postpartum recovery and nutrient replenishment
  • +Easy to continue if you already have a routine during pregnancy

Cons

  • -Some prenatals can be hard on the stomach if taken without food

What Santasha J says

[Music] hey guys welcome back to my channel s Beauty here and I'm back with another video okay guys so this is going to be part two basically of my nesting I don't want to say nesting series but part two of my nesting by the time you guys see this I'm 38 weeks I'm doing like a bedside Nursery I'm going to call it bedside Nursery last time I did a bedside bassinet but I'm not using a bassinet this time I'm using a mini crib so I'm going to do a bedside Nursery setup in our master bedroom I'm not using a bassinet this time because last time with my son he grew out of that bassinet within like 2 to 3 months and he was supposed to use that for up to 6 months okay this time I'm using a fold out crib or a fold up crib this one my sister gave it to me cuz it literally folds up I didn't want a huge Crib in my room but this one is perfect so I'm going to set it up so in this video I'm going to be doing my bedside Nursery my diaper caddy and my postpartum back basket if you guys are new here don't forget to subscribe and give this video a thumbs up and yeah I'm setting up for baby number two I forgot to mention that and I don't know the gender this is the side of the bed that the mini crib is going to go on I'm going to set up over here I'm just going to move these pieces of furniture here clean before I start anything and then just start setting up [Music] [Music] and [Music] [Music] so I just put the crib out as you guys can see it is still in the state of being foldable right now what I was just doing there's some adjustable levels it's two levels either you can put these bars at the bottom there which is where they were before or you can put them up here so that the mattress and everything can fit um sit higher I just adjusted it so that it sits higher because I don't want to have to bend so far into the crib but as they get a little bit bigger I can adjust it again where the bar is lower and the mattress will sit lower what's cool about this fold up crib situation is there is a board that you put on top of this little bar here and then you can put the mattress and stuff on top I wanted to explain that to you guys before I actually do it because I was kind of confused about mini cribs before until until I saw my sisters that's that that is the CB right there there is also two spots where you can put one screw here and one screw here to make sure it's very secure and I'm going to do that in a second but first i'm just going to show you guys how it looks it's literally the most perfect fit for this space that we have here the wheels do lock so that they don't move all the time you can lock it in and there it's stuck the mattress that my sister said it came with is this like very thin like foam mattress yeah no she ended up getting a different crib mattress I think this one is from I don't know if it's from Walmart or Amazon but I'm going to use this one too but it's a little bit firm so I'm going to see if I can put maybe the two mattresses together plus I have a padded mattress protector so maybe that will kind of you know do something to soften up the soften up the mattress maybe this one on top gives it a little bit of softness but let me put the mattress protector on here um this is actually from Ikea ooh I think I have to take it out actually it's like like a really tight fit I think this mattress protector is a little bit bigger than oh no it's bigger oh it is yeah it's a regular crib size this is a mini crib so H anyways I'm still going to use it I have this fitted sheet for the mattress here so I'm just going to put that on top of this is really thick it's really thick it's really thick it's a lot it's a lot oh is this too small no way wait hold up hold up am I just doing things wrong I swear this is what my sister used I don't know [Music] here though it's bigger than a bassinet so if you're considering a mini crib I would say go with it because I was anti- crib before but now that I have it here I'm like yeah this is this is good I still have my snuggle me lounger from when I had my son this is honestly this is one of those things where like I say you you have to get it like it seems unnecessary but it's necessary this came everywhere with us like when we went out if we went to someone's house we brought this with us we brought it downstairs in the living room we brought it into different bedrooms we brought it into the bassinet when he slept in the bassinet brought it on the bed this was everywhere with us the only thing is your child is not your baby is not supposed to sleep in here um more specifically unsupervised we did have our son sleeping in it to be very honest but when he was swaddled a lot of times I'd be like right beside him while he was sleeping in it or he'd be like um in the living room sleeping while I'm cooking so this is good so I'm going to put that in the crib as well because I'm pretty sure we're still going to use it and I love this too because it's washable you just throw the whole thing in the wash and it washed you can put it in the dryer I'm going to put a blanket in here as well like I said we don't know the gender of the baby so I won't be getting any like gender specific blankets until we know but we're a pretty neutral family anyway but I'm going to put this little teddy bear in here too so cute so yeah this is pretty much the baby's crib so I did put this blanket here at first but I can't really decide so cute I have this little animal print one as well so I don't know if I want this one here or this one one of them I'm going to bring to the hospital so I need to figure it out but this teddy bear I forgot to tell you guys this was when my son was a newborn as well and um I had this in his bassinet so I kept it in good condition so I'm just going to keep it here to be honest I ended up taking it out but I just think it's cute it's cute it's cute okay I'm so happy with the mini crib honestly I couldn't picture using something else I'm going to move on to the bedside caddy because that's what's going to have some stuff by the bedside for the baby specifically in my last um nesting video you guys saw I filled up the dresser with diapers and all that type of stuff but this is specifically for the bedside like what I'm going to do at the bedside and what I will need at my bedside so I have this um basket here it's from home sense I have some newborn diapers that I'm going to be keeping in there not a lot you know like I said I can this is something that you're going to constantly restock and I'm also going to be having a pack of wipes in there these are my favorite wipes actually I've tried every type of wipe water wipes hello Bellow Pampers Huggies these are the parent choice wipes they're 100 in a pack um you can get them in sensitive um no scent like scent free or scented 12 packs of these in a box for $20 let me tell you they go through so many wipes and you use wipes for everything their hands their mouth everything change your diapers 20 million times you need something that's affordable because you're going to be reing up wipes frequently okay using wipes frequently like these are this is like toilet paper okay I didn't get them just because they're cheap but they're good and they're cheap so that was a yes for me they're moist and they're very strong that's what I loved and they're cheap I'm also going to have vaseline in there as well this is the Vaseline cocoa butter the cocoa butter healing jelly I find this one to be a little bit thicker so I really like like this another very important thing because this is the diaper caddy the bedside caddy a change pad I love this change pad okay it comes in a pack of three or four I used to keep this in every drawer I used to keep them um downstairs upstairs in both caddies always kept one in the diaper bag literally fold this up okay fold it up any any way you want no matter what happens on this it gets super clean after everything I'm mentioning I will have them linked down below but like I said second time around of okay and these were mandatory like I still love them so much I have these muslin burp cloths I love these ones I love these ones I love these ones I I love these like they're nice and plush and they're soft and they're the perfect size like they're just so perfect and but I bought some new ones it was a pack of 10 off Amazon I will link it down below I'm going to keep some pseudo cream this is my favorite diaper rash cream I like to keep an extra like receiving blanket as well so I'm just going to have one in there I also like to keep extra clothes because this is literally something like it's right here at your fingertips because you don't want to leave the bed okay whether it's night time nap time lunchtime dinner time whatever if you're in here buy your bed and the crib is right there baby's in here you don't want to leave your bed so I have an extra onesie I'll prob probably most likely keep like two in here I used to always restock my diaper caddies when I had my son also I'm going to keep a sleeper in there as well last but not least I'm going to keep a pacifier in there [Music] [Music] another thing that I think is very important and I'm going to keep it at my bedside for sure because it's been at my bedside since I had my son is this noise machine this is high key not even lowkey I was going to say lowkey high key it's highkey this is a high key item okay I don't want to say you have to okay but this one was really cheap I used to have a hatch it was gifted to us from our baby shower it was literally amazing it was worth the hype it's so worth the hype if you're thinking about purchasing it or whatever I would say go ahead and get it maybe when my son was like a year and a half the cord started chipping out sounding staticky or like not working I I would have to wrap the cord around and long story short we stopped using that one and we ended up buying this little cheap one off of Amazon it's not expensive at all it has a lot of the same features like the um power button um there's different sounds volume there's a light you can change the you could turn the light off or um put a timer on only thing is with the hatch machine you can turn up the brightness or turn down the brightness of the light it was like the absolute perfect like nightl it gave just enough light and you can control it from your phone honestly I thought it wouldn't make a big difference but it really does because sometimes you just want a little bit of light this one the light is just the light okay it's it's not super bright but it's not dimable either this one is like you could put a timer you can change the color of the light to whatever you want as for the different sounds sound machine here and then diaper caddy over here honestly all of this is going to be filled with bottles realistically so for my postpartum basket it's going to be pretty simple the last time I didn't use everything that was in my postpartum basket so I'm just going to do it specifically based on stuff that I actually used last time and if I do need other things and I can easily just get them or order them off Amazon or something what I used for certain the last time was these depends adult diapers okay these were my favorite I don't care anybody says like these saved me saved me they just saved me okay so I didn't think I was going to use them the way that I did but I finished the pack okay I didn't tear um I didn't bleed for long only Max like 7 days and I think 7 days is kind of a stretch and I still used all of the diapers that I had bought a pack of the depend um they're the large and I bought 17 pack I don't think I'll need more than this but last time I think I was wearing medium but I have gained weight since then mandatory like if you feel like you don't need these you definitely do also in my postpartum basket I'm going to have these U maxi pads like regular overnight maxi pads you can use these to make ice pads you just use um I think witch hazel like you pour witch hazel on it put it in the freezer and then use them as ice pads um but I did use these after I finished my diapers and these were good these are the always for size four overnights lowkey High key these are high key tux Wich Hazel pads these are mandatory like I loved these so much these are just witch hazel pads personal cleansing pads okay they say hemorrhoidal pads with witch hazel you can put these on your pads or put them inside the diapers like put a few like maybe two or three and then put these on if you're feeling sore or itchy or anything like that line the pad or line the depends with this this is the freedom mom Parry bottle I had this from my last pregnancy and I'm going to put it in my hospital bag as well but this will be in my postpartum basket you cannot be using toilet paper or wipes after you have to use a Parry bottle any like kind of painkiller I'm using eyebrow profine this is naproxin I'm going to put them in in my postpartum basket I didn't need them but I'm going to put it another thing that I'm not putting in my basket this time that I did the last time is stool softener like I said I did not tear um I didn't have any problems after Labor so I did not use any stool softener I bought stool softener and I promise you it went straight into the Gard garbage okay I'm also going to keep my um prenatal in there obviously you want to keep using your prenatal until they're finished you know when the baby comes out everything comes out with them okay like all your nutrients all that extra blood that you have all those extra vitamins all those extra everything is just gone your body is so used to having that extra you know care your hair is going to start falling out your skin is probably going to act crazy just keep up with your prenatals give your body some more water and all that stuff this is the Earth Mama perennial is it perennial I think is perennial this is a bomb that you can use like if you do end up tearing or have any like soreness or you know you can apply some of this to your area your private area you can use it as often as needed before and after child birth should I start now I don't know I'm using witch hazel not witch hazel um evening primrose inserting evening primrose before my labor because I think that really did contribute to the no tearing the last time so I'm going to I'm still I'm I just bought some I'm going to be doing it as of today so anyways that's what's going to be in my postpartum baskets um and that's it because these are the things that actually was useful to me the last time remember like I said Mom of two going to be a mom of two okay this is everything that's going to be in my postpartum basket I'm just going to restock it as much as possible or as much much as needed I should say I have a baby bashour bouncer this was actually from when my son was a baby he actually hated this he hated it so much but I do know a lot of kids like it a lot of parents love it my sister gifted this to me and then my son hated it so I gave it to her her son loved it so she gave it back to me for this baby so we're going to see we're going to see okay but I'm going to set it up from now I did wash all baby stuff already as you guys saw in my last video and this is something that they can use from newborn until they say until 2 years old because it can be transformed into like a seat or something like that obviously I never got to try it but I highly doubt that I'll use it that long and it does have a little elastic here that secures to the base what I really like about this bouncer is that it's so discret when you're ready because you can Fold It Up flat and store it like under the bed or I'm going to store it behind the crib like it's really really flat so it doesn't take up any space at all I used to take a shower and put Asher in here he would scream his head off but he'd be in here and I would take a shower and I could just see him screaming his head off in the bouncer but at least he was in something and he was safe you know so I had peace of mind whenever I was taking a shower and I was by myself whether the baby likes it or not they're going to go in here when I have to take a shower okay the next video I come out with will be what's in my hospital bag so if you guys want to see what I'm taking to the hospital this time around yeah if you guys want to see what I'm putting in my hospital bag this time around stay tuned because like I said second time around okay I know exactly what I need this time around if you guys enjoyed this video please leave a comment down below please like And subscribe and I will see you guys in my next video okay bye
