Wavelink NVMe to USB-C 40Gbps Enclosure: https://amzn.to/3DVSF12 Today we’re taking a look at the Wavlink 40 gigabit NVMe SSD enclosure. Thanks to Wavlink for sending this over for me to take a look at and sponsoring this video. As far as USB-C enclosures go, this is one of the beefiest meatiest ones that I have seen yet and I like it. This enclosure is made out of Aluminum to maximize pulling that heat out of the SSD and dissipating the into the surrounding air. That’s a good design because this enclosure supports up to 40gbps or a maximum theoretical speed of 5,000 megabytes per second over the included USB 4 cable. That maximum speed of course does depend on your PC or devices port on the other side but you can install some very fast PCIe NVMe drives in here and get incredible performance. This is like a kit that you're buying, you get the enclosure of course as well as a thermal pad for the SSD and an aluminum heatsink that can also be leveraged for increased heat transfer. We have the USB-C cable which has some good shielding and is relatively short which is perfect for taking this on the go and using it with mobile devices. They also include a some rubber NVMe fasteners instead of needing to use a tiny screw and screwdriver and there even is a travel bag, kind of a nice touch there and I think all of these nice touches add up to make this a solid value if you need a performant NVMe enclosure. As for the benchmarks, I ran CrystalDiskMark 8 here and saw an average read speed of 960mb/s and average write speed of 1,000mb/s which is inline for what I would expect with this S690Q drive, there's still headroom left in USB 4 for faster drives up to that 5,000 megabytes per second limit. I also tested moving some steam games to this from my 980 Pro, they moved super fast.
