Orico NVMe to USB-C Adapter: https://amzn.to/3HgGYjM Today we’re taking a look at the Orico NVMe to USB-C adapter kit. Orico sponsored this video but the opinions and testing are my own. This adapter kit will let you take a standard PCIe x4 NVME m.2 2280 SSD and adapt it into an ultra fast portable USB-c drive. The adapter supports up to 10GBps communication through the controller and the USV-C connection. The adapter will physically accept 2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280 M.2 SSDs. It comes with a rubber type of screw kit so you don’t have to worry about buying a standoff and screw kit. A neat feature to this kit is that it comes with a heatsink for your SSD which is awesome if you have a hotter SSD or it will be next to a hot vent on your laptop or something like that. This adapter also supports SATA SSDs too in the M.2 form factor if you have them. The SATA speeds will maxout around 450MB per second. I like the design of this adapter, it's compact and easy to use. USB-C really is the present and the future, I’m glad to see a kit with this instead of USB type A ports. In terms of speed testing, I ran the CrystalDiskMark 8 benchmark on my TeamGroup MP33 NVMe PCI x4 SSD. In the sequential 1M read test, the SSD hit about 946 megabytes per second and about 922 megabytes per second in the 1m sequential write test. The random 4k read test showed about 23 to 24 megabytes per second reads and about 75 megabytes per second 4k random writes. That speed was a little strange but the result was repeatable in this test. If you’re looking to turn an M.2 drive into an ultra fast portable hard drive, I’d definitely suggest taking a look at this adapter. 🔥 Cool Stuff on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3B6Gqru 🔥 Looking for parts?
