This memory kit consists of two memory modules, each 16gb for a total of 32gb. The kit is EXPO verified meaning that if you’re using a qualified AMD motherboard, you should be able to get DDR5 6000 mega transfers at CL30-38-38-96 timings with 1.35V. Since EXPO makes memory overclocking a little bit easier for everyone, all you need to do is enable it in the bios. For my test system here, I’m running an AMD Ryzen 7700X with the ASRock X670E PG Lightning motherboard and a PowerColor RX 7600 Hellhound. These days for new gaming rigs, I really see 32GB being the best value in terms of an amount of system memory that will last you at least a few years. As for the speed and timings, if you’re running an AMD Ryzen system, I’d really suggest 6000MTs rated memory btw, you might hear this called 6000MHz RAM, people are referring to the same thing but it’s technically mega transfers or MTs. I think getting into an AM5 platform with stock 4800MT memory is probably not worth the cost savings and unless you plan on really overclocking and optimizing your system, speeds above 6000MTs are only going to gain a few percent on average in some games. This is really the sweet spot in DDR5 memory on the AMD platform right now. This kit is of course RGB so, that’s worth at least 10 or 20% performance I think. The RGB colors can be controlled through various RGB applications, G.Skill lists Aura Sync, RGB Fusion 2.0, Mystic Light Sync from MSI, and ASRock's Polychrome sync. I like the look of the heatsinks and the RGB on top just adds that nice final touch to the aesthetic of the system in my opinion. I ran my system through a ton of gaming benchmarks to make sure it was stable and performing well, no issues with EXPO enabled and the performance was good. One thing to note if you are new to the AMD AM5 platform, the initial boot times when you apply memory overclocks, even EXPO mode, can be a little longer than like an AM4 system was. I definitely recommend always checking out G.Skill’s compatibility matrix, they post detailed QVL’s on their website for every single memory kit they sell which is awesome.
