Thanks to Phixero for sending this SSD to me for review. The P7000 pro SSD here is a PCI Express gen 4 SSD with a blazing fast maximum read speed of 7000 megabytes per second and a write speed up to 6500 megabytes per second. The P7000 Pro features TLC NAND memory which is super important for speed and overall all write endurance. The model I have here is the 1TB model but this drive comes in 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB options which makes this drive great for gaming PCs and workstations but it’s also a solid choice if you have a PS5 and need a drive to run games off of. 🔥 Cool Stuff on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3B6Gqru 🔥 Included with the SSD are two thermal pads for the SSD’s heatsink and the NVMe screw in case your motherboard didn’t come with one or you lost yours. While the heatsink isn’t strictly required, if you install it with the SSD in your PC, it should help keep the drive cooler under heavy loads like gaming or long work sessions by making sure the drive doesn’t throttle down due to excessive heat. As far as my testing went, this SSD is plenty fast. In Crystal Disk Mark I was able to get an awesome 7,380 megabytes per second read speed and 6,520 megabytes per second write speed. I also ran my standard large 50GB copy test over my two and a half gigabit per second LAN connection and I was easily able to max out the connection. Phixero is a newer brand to me but I am impressed with the performance of this SSD. This is definitely a solid choice for a main operating system drive but it will work just as well as a game or photo storage drive and of course, this drive is plenty fast for PS5 gamers. The test system that I used here is my Ryzen 7700X gaming rig with an ASRock X670E PG Lightning motherboard, 32gb of GSKill ddr5-6000cl32 memory and my trusty RTX 3060. I’m actually consolidating all of my games from my smaller SATA SSDs to this 1tb NVMe drive because it is so much faster than my old Samsung 850 EVO drives. The steam game transfers were super fast, Red Dead and Cyberpunk actually seemed to load up a little bit faster too which is actually kind of nice.
