Orico O7000 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD: https://amzn.to/4e9dra2 LIMITED TIME Discount CODE: O7000SAMS Today we're taking a look at the Orico 2 terabyte NVME PCIe 4.0 SSD. Thanks to Orico for sending this SSD over for us to take a look at. This is a blazing fast gen 4 PCIE SSD with write speeds of up to 6,800 megabytes per second and up to 7,000 megabytes per second read speeds so I'm quite interested to take a look at it. The O7000 series SSDs from Orico come in multiple capacities, 512gb, 1tb, 2tb like what I have here today, and even 4tb versions all with super fast access. This SSD is the perfect size and performance level for those of you who want a larger NVME drive that is also your operating system drive. In preparation for setting this drive up in my Ryzen 9700X RTX 4070 Super benchmarking rig, I copied over about a terabyte of steam games from another drive. 🔥 Cool Stuff on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3B6Gqru 🔥 I was actually maxing out the other NVMe drive around 1 gigabyte per second which is just bonkers considering this drive had more to give. I ran the CrystalDiskMark benchmark and saw a crazy 7,270 ish megabytes per second read speed and blistering 6,400 ish megabytes per second write speed. This was an excellent performance result in my opinion. I originally ran this benchmark with the drive empty but running as the OS drive. I reran the CrytalDiskMark benchmark after filling the drive to about 52% and saw read speeds around 7,000 megabytes per second and write speeds around 6200 megabytes per second, and that's great considering the drive was just over half full. The O7000 uses HMB and a smaller SLC cache in place of traditional onboard DRAM. HMB essentially means that the SSD will use a small amount of system memory for some core functionality to help keep the drive moving fast and combined with the SLC should help the drive last longer in terms of endurance. The 2TB model of the O7000 drive has an endurance rating of 1200TBW which is way more than enough in my opinion, this drive will likely outlast the vast majority of gaming PCs and workstations. I’ll be using this drive as the main NVMe drive in my test bench here for holding steam games, benchmarking applications, and this drive is plenty fast for some video editing too.
