Phixero P500 SSD: https://amzn.to/3NHtQaY Today we're taking a look at the Phixero P500 series 1tb SATA SSD. Thanks to Phixero for sending this SSD over to me for the video. It looks like a solid value SATA drive especially for storing games and files so I'm quite interested to take a look at it. The P500 series SSDs come in multiple capacities, 256gb, 512gb, 1tb like what I have here today and they go all the way up to 2 and even 4tb versions. The P500 series is also rated for up to 550 megabytes per second sequential read and 480 megabytes per second sequential write speeds which is quite good for SATA. 🔥 Cool Stuff on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3B6Gqru 🔥 In my game file testing, I was able to get up to consistently get about 400 megabytes per second read speeds and just under 400 megabytes per second write speeds while I moved a few hundred gigabytes of steam games on and off the SSD. I also ran the CrystalDiskMark benchmark and saw a solid 550megabytes per second read and even 525 megabytes per second write with the 1gb default test. I think these are some great speeds considering the cost of the drive and the SATA interface. The 1tb model of theP500 drive has an endurance rating of 300TBW which is more than enough in my opinion for a game drive or honestly even an operating system drive. For reference, I have very old generation SSDs still going strong so I have no doubt the P500 here will serve you well for many years. Phixero warranties these SATA drives for 3 years as well which is good. I think if you’re looking for a solid SATA drive that you can use as a reliable game or file storage dick or even as your main your OS drive, especially for laptop owners out there, this is a compelling option while staying on a budget. The P500 series of SSDs are really high in terms of value for money from what I can tell. My plan is to use this drive as the game storage drive in my benchmarking rig that I use for all of my videos. I need reliable fast SATA storage for the games I cant fit on my NVMe drives but, I could easily see this SSD breathing some life into in a PC or a laptop as well. The drive doesn't seem to heat up much at all when under load and even after a few hundred GB of data being read, the drive maintained good speeds. It's just a good value pick in my opinion especially at the higher capacities.
