Thanks to Fanxiang for sending this SSD over to me for the video. These S101Q series SSDs are solid mid range SATA drive options that are targeted for adding some bulk SSD storage to a gaming pc or workstation or even a laptop with a standard SATA port. This SSD is rated for a maximum write speed up to 510 megabytes per second and 560 megabytes per second read speeds. This SSD utilizes QLC NAND coupled HMB technology as opposed to traditional on board DRAM. I would say this drive is relatively solid as far as SATA solid state drives go in 2024. HMB involves using a tiny amount of system memory to essentially replace that onboard DRAM. I set this SSD up as a storage drive for games in my Ryzen 9700X test system with 32gb of ddr5-6000 G.Skill memory and my ASUS RTX 4070 Super. For performance testing, I ran the CrystalDiskMark 8 benchmark on the SSD to get a feel for performance and saw about 520 megabytes per second write speed on average and about 560 megabytes per second read speed on average. As for the 3DMark SSD test, the S101Q averaged about 182ish megabytes per second in terms of the bandwidth testing and an average access time of about 182 microseconds.
