The Minthouz 5Gbps USB-C Network Adapter: https://amzn.to/47uexgD Today we’re taking a look at the Minthouz 5gbps USB-C adapter. Thanks to Minthouz for sending this over for us to take a look at. This adapter is a handy accessory for those of us who might have slightly older laptops like my Asus Strix G15 that is stuck with a 1gbps network card. My G15 does however have a USB-C port which allows me to use this adapter so I can get up to 5gbps network speeds. I don’t have a 5gbps network switch right now but I do have a 2.5gbps switch and during my testing, I was easily able to max that out after installing the driver. Interestingly, this adapter does allow for about 95 watts worth of power input in case you can power your laptop or device from USB-C PD-in connections. This adapter should be compatible with Windows 10 and 11, Linux distros, Macbooks, iPads, and most other USB-C equipped PCs. After transferring about 100gb worth of data, the adapter was mildly warm but that large casing functions like a heatsink allowing for this adapter to keep chugging through those larger transfers without overheating. This is definitely an accessory that I’ll be carrying around in my laptop bag for when 2.5 or 5gbps networks are available as I definitely want that bandwidth increase.
