When to stop running intervals is not something that's often talked about. One way to improve your interval training and ultimately improve as a runner is to follow the 5% rule when running intervals. It's a very simple concept and will save you from having a catastrophic failure during a workout and/or getting injured. The 5% rule that I follow is simply: when interval times or average power (watts) drop by 5% or more, it's time to adjust the workout or end the workout.
