Because of the incredible tough terrain and the bike being too big for me, I dropped it in the middle of a huge ascent up a super steep road , with deep sand and hair pin turns. In This episode I try to find help to pick up my bike. I tried to pick it up myself, but with the hill and lack of traction, I wasn't able to. I panicked and ran for help. I get to experience the kindness of many strangers and encouraged by the help that I get from these people. I'm happy that I get to share these beautiful encounters with people. To reinstate your faith in humanity. I'm a solo female traveler, and I was showered with generosity from these kind Muslim people. Who wanted nothing but to help me and make sure that I was okay. This is the world we live in, and it makes me so happy that I can share it :) This was the first time I've ever attempted roads of this sorts. I don't claim myself as a professional adv rider. I'm an avid adventurer who likes to do things my own way and its been working for me for the past 12 years.. Yes there are "better ways to do it" but I like my way :) FYI- This was a borrowed bike and helmet. We tried to lower it as much as possible. It wasn't ideal, but it was the only way I'd have a bike for this trip. Same went for the oversized helmet- Yes I knew the risk. As far as picking the bike up. I know how to correctly pick up a bike, I've watched many tutorials.. HOWEVER.. I have a very bad disc problem in my back. the "recommended" way to pick up the bike immediately gave me the "no no feeling" The 6 km bag on the back did not make a difference, so wouldn't have helped taking it off. After dropping my bike nearly everday on this trip ( due to the height, mostly standing still) I decided at the end of the trip to try my own way to pick it up. which was NOT the recommend way. but it was the perfect way for my body and this bike. Goes to show you , not one technique for all bodies. I made a fun little video about that experience and will release it at the end of all of the episodes. I appreciate all of the concern and tips, but its all good .
