Should we replace it all or change it?

We have been busy tearing out carpets and inspecting mattrasses at the old farmhouse, because we are trying to get our house ready for the arrival of our shipment. We aren't fond of carpets, but some people like them. What do you think, should we replace the carpets or change them to wood or titles? Also, how come mattrasses are so expensive? How much did you pay for your mattrass and bed frame?
