Before the actual let’s play at the college starts, I spend some time crafting about a million iron daggers at a forge in Whiterun and messing with my perks to see if I can actually survive a fight for once. Once I actually start the playthrough toward the north, I end up getting sidetracked by a creepy lighthouse where some poor family got wrecked by a Chaurus and a bunch of Falmer in a cellar that was way bigger than it had any right to be. After dealing with that mess and nearly drowning Lydia a few times while exploring a shipwreck, I finally make it to Winterhold, pass a quick test for Faralda, and get a tour from Mirabelle Ervine.
