Approximately, two years ago, I spent countless hours, days and weeks of research on how to properly paint my kitchen cabinets. Today, I am happy to have pictures to share the success of turning my 15 year old worn cabinets into a very beautiful, clean, crisp, vibrate and professional looking job, without the professionally done price tag! The kit includes the following: Deglosser, Bond Coat, Decorative Glaze, Protective Top Coat, Scrub Pads, Glazing Cloths, Stir Sticks and an Instructional DVD & Pamphlet. This Do-It-Yourself kit by Rust-Oleum Transformations was easy to use and follow. I purchased the system and all additional supplies displayed in this video (gathered throughout my research) from my local Home Improvement Store (Home Depot). As you will see in this video I did modify just a bit in the first step. I read and watch several reviews that suggested applying a Primer. As seen in the video I started out using the Rustoleum Deglosser and it did work but not having the physical strength to really get in there with some "elbow grease" I turned to my old trusty Stripping Gel. Those were the only modifications (Stripping Gel and Primer). The reminder of the project, I purposely took my time and carefully followed directions in each step and my results speak for themselves, even two years later! Side Note: I didn’t use the glaze option included in the kit but it’s nice to have if I decide in the future to give my cabinets a different look or even use it creatively for another project.
