You’ll receive the main vacuum body, an extra battery, Wall Dok, two AC power adapters, extension tube, Motorbar XL floor roller, Fluffy Optic floor roller, hair screw, dual brush nozzle, and quickstart guides. The main vacuum body houses the motor and HEPA filter, dustbin, and removable battery. It’s got a nice large handgrip and a soft rubber cushion just above it. A red tab on the underside of the 1/2 gallon dust bin lets you empty it without touching its contents by simply sliding it forward and dropping its contents right into your trash. Every detachable component is easy to snap in and remove from the vacuum and nearly all of them are marked with red buttons, levers, or tabs. The batteries can be charged whether installed in the vacuum or removed. When charging, blue LEDs on the sides of the battery will pulse. What’s nice is that there are two chargers included, so you can charge both batteries at the same time. While you can’t use the vacuum during charging, pressing the power button will light up the screen so you can view the charge progress. When fully assembled with the extension tube and floor roller, the vacuum weighs about 6 lbs, however, some of that weight is offloaded to the ground and it doesn't feel quite so heavy during use. When turning it on, it defaults to the last mode used and displays a bar graph of captured particles (categorized by size in micrometers) and the remaining run time. The silver button on the LCD toggles through the modes: Eco, medium, and boost. Eco lowers the suction power but doubles your run time giving you a max of 75 minutes per battery. Medium, or auto mode, delivers moderate suction which adjusts in power based on the amount of debris measured by the Piezo sensor. Boost mode consumes the most battery for maximum suction but has the least run time, about 7 minutes on a full charge. When you power off the vacuum, the LCD shows a summary of all the particles captured. All the various accessories excel at their intended purposes, and I found that different tasks required different attachments. For example, the Motorbar XL worked great on my carpeted stairs and second floor, while the Fluffy Optic roller bar was better matched for my hard flooring like kitchen, living room, and dining room. Specifically, the Fully Optic's laser module, which sends a beam in front of the roller to highlight dust and debris in the vacuum’s path, works pretty well and is visible even in bright lighting. The crevice wand, built-into the top of the extension tube, lets me get into corners and tight spaces that the other attachments can't, and the hair roller screw does a very good job removing pet/long hair from furniture like mattresses, couches, and stairs. The wide nozzle and brush was useful for just about every other surface like the corners of ceilings, where cobwebs collect, in nooks and crannies, and even along the top of floor moldings. The Wall Dok stores the vacuum up off the floor and charges it automatically each time I put it away, with the AC adapter installed. You can stow up to two accessories underneath by snapping them into the connectors. However, you’ll really only be able to fit one larger attachment in if it blocks the other connector. The vacuum is fitted with a washable HEPA filter at the back, that cleans the air that exits the vacuum, capturing microscopic particles down to 0.1 microns including viruses. It can be removed with a simple twist and rinsed off in the sink. Just remember to let it dry completely before reinstalling on the vacuum. While there is a MyDyson app, this vacuum isn’t smart and doesn’t connect with it. The app is primarily used to register the vacuum for warranty purposes with quick access to instructions, support, and buying accessories. Overall, the Dyson gen5outsize is a powerhouse of a cordless stick vacuum. It has powerful suction that goes up to 135,000 rpm in Boost mode, though medium mode tends to do just fine for regular cleanings. With the two batteries you can get over 2 hours of use on Eco mode, and the various included attachments help tackle almost any situation. With the large bin capacity and wide rollers, you’ll be finishing faster and emptying out the collection bin less often. The particle counter is kind of fun and also serves to adjust the suction power automatically for dirtier areas (in medium mode). The main considerations would be its high price and weight, which is a bit heavier than most cordless vacs, but getting your cleaning done and a free workout at the same time? Now that’s multi-tasking. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. #CommissionsEarned Amazon Affiliate Product Link: https://geni.us/Q5f1
