I grabbed this budget Android Auto/Apple CarPlay screen to keep my $1,300 phone off the bars and out of the vibration zone. For around 75–80 bucks, it powered up easy, paired to my phone, and gave me a big, visible display for maps and music right in my face.
Pros
- +Affordable compared to replacing a phone
- +Bright, visible screen and easy access to navigation/music
- +Touchscreen works well with glove tips
- +Magnetic mount lets me pop the screen off when I want
- +Can run off switched ignition power so it won’t drain the battery
Cons
- -Voice control wasn’t as solid as I wanted (may need tweaking)
- -Sits a little higher off the handlebars than I’d prefer until you dial in the mount
