Subscribe to our channel here: http://bit.ly/2zzR6BV Follow our Instagram here: http://bit.ly/2AyxPkb Like us on Facebook here: http://bit.ly/2Pa72zC Date Night Spaghetti and Meatballs Ingredients: * 1 lb spaghetti * 1 lb ground beef * 1 lb ground pork * 1 lb ground veal * 1 large yellow onion, small diced * 1/4 cup fresh Italian flat leaf parsley, chopped * 6 cloves garlic, minced * 1/4 cup bread crumbs * 1/2 cup parmesan cheese * 2 tbsp tomato paste * 1 28oz can crushed tomatoes * 1 tbsp brown sugar * 1 tsp dried oregano * 2 dry bay leaves * 2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped * 2 tsp crushed red pepper, optional * salt & peper to taste * olive oil Equipment: * Knife * Cutting Board * Large Bowl * Large Sauce Pan w/ Lid * Large Pot w/ LidSheet Tray * Strainer * Aluminum Foil * Sheet Tray * Oven * Stove * Spaghetti Fork * Mixing Spoon * 4 oz Ice Cream Scooper, optional * Tasting Spoon Directions: Meatballs- Preheat your oven to 400ºF. In a large bowl, combine all meats, 1/2 cup of bread crumbs, 3 eggs, 3 tbsp minced garlic, parsley, 2 tsp salt and 1 tsp pepper. Mix together until the ingredients are well incorporated into each other. Line a sheet tray with aluminum foil and lightly coat with olive oil. Use an ice cream scoop, or your hands, to make 4 oz meatballs and place on the sheet tray. Place meatballs into oven and cook for 20-25 minutes until fully cooked. Remove from oven and let cool for at least 10 minutes before adding to your sauce. Tomato Sauce- In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add your chopped onion and sauté for 4-5 minutes, until onions are soft. Add 2 tbsp minced garlic and sauté for an additional 2 minutes. Make a well in the center of the pan and add tomato paste and stir for 2 minutes. Add crushed tomatoes, brown sugar, dried oregano, dry bay leaves, salt and pepper to taste. Mix well. Cover pan with a lid, lower heat and simmer for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove bay leaves, and add fresh basil. Adjust seasoning if needed. Place meatballs in sauce and simmer uncovered until pasta is ready. Pasta- Boil a large pot of water on the stove. Season water with 1 tbsp olive oil and 4 tbsp salt. Add spaghetti and boil for 12 minutes until al dente. Strain pasta. Garnish pasta with tomato sauce, meatballs, parmesan cheese and a fresh basil leaf. Serve and Enjoy :)
