RDNA 5 2X Ray Tracing Performance: PS6, PC & Xbox Leak Analysis

RDNA 5 (AKA UDNA or GFX13) will in one form or another be present in the next generation playstation (PS6), xbox console and of course various AMD Radeon GPUs and SoCs. To that end rumors are swirling that the ray tracing capabilities of RDNA 5 are doubled over that of the older RDNA 4 architecture, with a similar uplift for the AI capabilities and raster performance will see around 1.2x gain. This would be on a CU vs CU basis (ie, 36 Compute units of RDNA 4 vs 36 of RDNA 5). There are however other factors such as higher clock frequencies, more bandwidth and naturally there would potentially be more compute units present for the PS6 over the PS5 etc etc. RDNA 5 seems to offer significantly better AI capabilities which will be extremely important for the next generation consoles, particularly with Sony and microsoft both leveraging upscaling, frame generation and ray tracing capabilities.
