Alfredo sauce recipe Add one ingredient and melt to mix thoroughly before adding the next ingredient in order: 2 sticks butter 2 quarts heavy whipping cream 12 oz Parmesan cheese shavings (do NOT use the powdered as it makes the sauce grainy)I uses a combination of Asiago and Parmesan 16 oz cream cheese 5 teaspoons garlic powder OR 1/4 cup minced garlic 1/4 teaspoon fine ground pepper 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder Additional 1 cup Parmesan cheese,shaved 1 cup milk (optional to thin as it was too thick after canning the first batch) Between each step blend with an immersion blender. Jar up leaving 1 1/2 inch headspace. To each jar add: 1/4 teaspoon salt (up to 1/2 teaspoons if desired) 1/4 teaspoon cracked black pepper Wipe rims with dry paper towel. Apply lids and rings. Pressure can for 10 minuets at 10 pounds of pressure. Adjust for your altitude if necessary. Makes 7 pints
