Ultralight Fishing on the Dam - Will I Catch More Fish Here?

Today I am ultralight fishing on the dam, will I catch more fish here? I typically go the other way and fish the boat ramp and dock, but today I am fishing on top of the dam and heading to the other side of the lake. I start out fishing at the edge of the dam and catch a nice bluegill. But as I make my way across the dam, I don't actually catch anything, not even one fish. But as soon as I make my way to the other side of the dam, I start catching fish again. Sometimes the fish are NOT next to the dam.
