Can you use topwater lures when fishing for bluegill? Yes you can! Today I am fishing with a floating Rapala jerkbait and I am catching big bluegill using it as a topwater lure. I start out with a typical retrieve and catch a couple of fish. But then after experimenting with a topwater presentation, I start catching more and bigger panfish! Beginner fishing tip: You don't always have to fish the lure as intended, you can experiment with presentations like using it as a topwater lure. It was easy to see that the bluegill preferred the Rapala being fish on top! #fishing #tips Send mail to the show here: Realistic Fishing PO Box 2005 Lebanon TN 37088 Try it yourself!
