Today I am doing some bass fishing with a beetle spin in early spring! The lures I am using today might help you catch your first bass this year. I modified my beetle spin by removing the grub, and replacing it with a soft plastic minnow. This is how I catch my first bass of the year! After that I try another modified lure, a lipless crankbait. I removed the front hook so it resembles a spoon, having only one treble hook. I even catch a shad and use it one the lipless crankbait. I catch a larger bass using this method. It's that time of year when spring bass fishing is heating up. Maybe try a beetle spin and see if you can catch a bass.
