This is the Brightin Star 85mm f/1.8 I tested, and I honestly think it’s the best value portrait lens out right now. You’re getting sharp results even at f/1.8, great control of distortion/vignetting/CA, and a surprisingly premium all-metal build with a de-clicked aperture ring for video.

Pros

  • +Razor sharp center wide open; sharp corner-to-corner by f/2–f/2.8
  • +All-metal build feels like a pro lens
  • +De-clicked aperture ring with good resistance (great for video)
  • +Autofocus is accurate, silent, and relatively quick
  • +Minimal distortion and barely any vignetting; CA well controlled
  • +Included hood and well-padded packaging

Cons

  • -Can hunt/hesitate in some autofocus situations
  • -A bit heavy/big on small bodies like the Sony A7C
  • -Cat-eye bokeh toward the corners
