Seriously, if you do any amount of layout and want perfect square every time, even with one person, check out the Stabila Layout Station, the LA180
If you do any amount of layout and you want perfect square every time—even as a one-man show—the Stabila LA180 is the move. I used it on this 80' run to lock in square, then I still verified diagonals with a tape because the laser is only as good as the guy operating it.
Pros
- +Makes finding square fast and repeatable on long runs
- +Works well even when you’re laying out solo
- +Fine adjustment helps dial in tiny movements over distance
Cons
- -Operator setup matters—small placement errors can show up as 1/16" or 1/8" out at 80 feet
