In this project, I got to be part of something special in my hometown—helping bring the story of El Paso to life as Helen Hunt visited the city for a BBC StoryWorks collaboration with Visit El Paso and Creative El Paso. The goal wasn’t just to show pretty shots; it was to highlight the complex border identity and the uniqueness of our community through real places, real people, and real culture. From iconic locations around town to the energy you only feel here, this was all about capturing El Paso with intention and cinematic care. Over a few days, we introduced Helen to lucha with El Dragon Luchador, took her deep into Mexican cuisine at Elemi, and explored the new La Nube discovery center downtown. We also featured the craftsmanship behind Rocketbuster Boots—one of those El Paso details that says everything about the city without needing a long explanation. My takeaway: El Paso isn’t a “stop on the way”—it’s a destination, and when you film it right, you can feel the story in every frame.
