If you’re like me, you end up working in dark, awkward spaces where it’s never convenient to get light exactly where you need it. In this video I’m checking out Milwaukee’s new M12 Rover light (2350), and the big deal is how much flexibility you get in a tiny package. With the swinging arm that articulates and spins, I can aim the beam in just about any direction depending on how I’ve got it set down. It’s the kind of light that can follow you around like a little puppy dog—attach it, hang it, stick it, or mount it and keep working. I walk through the three output modes—300, 600, and 1,200 lumens—and what that means for runtime using an M12 4.0Ah XC battery: up to 16 hours on low, 8 hours on medium, and about 4 hours on high. Beyond brightness, Milwaukee nailed the mounting options: a strong magnetic strip with rubber overmold to protect finishes, a keyhole slot, a pop-out metal hook, and a base “cup” you can screw down and twist-lock the light into. And yes—it’s PACKOUT compatible, so it clicks in and locks down on your system. You also get USB-C device charging (with its own on/off), IP54 dust/moisture protection, a 9-foot drop rating, and it sells as a bare tool for about $99.
