I used the Topping DX5 Mark II as one of the DAC/amps for comparing the X1 and the R70xa, and it’s a solid budget-friendly option that still gives you parametric EQ. It’s a good way to get into a proper headphone monitoring chain without jumping straight to flagship pricing.

Cons

-Not the same tier as the RME in overall feature set and studio workflow
-Amp/DAC differences weren’t the focus of my conclusions
