The AT-SP3X is the main star of this video: a 1" tweeter + 3" woofer powered bookshelf system that goes down to about 55 Hz, with Bluetooth 5.3 and RCA. I use it as a real-life B monitor for mix translation, and I kept confusing it with much bigger monitors until I focused on the very low end.

Pros

  • +Punchy, deep lows for the size (rated to 55 Hz)
  • +Wide stereo field and wide sweet spot
  • +No harsh highs and very low noise
  • +Bluetooth 5.3 + RCA makes it easy for studio or casual listening
  • +Excellent price-to-performance

Cons

  • -Slight character differences in mids/highs versus studio monitors
  • -For EDM or bigger impact, a subwoofer may be needed

What Project Beats // Joven says

Okay, so the SP3X, I first heard this bookshelf tiny speaker in uh the Audio Technica headquarters
Big thanks to Audio Technica for sending the SP3X for review
Okay, so for the Audio Technica SP3X, I mostly work with uh orchestral music, coral music, listening to them, uh arranging uh for choirs and ensembles
So, what I find with the Audio Technica SP3X, listening to it with um a lot of vocal music, it has more in your face vocals
The mid-range, the liveless comes out on this small SP3X
