The TD-516 sits in that sweet spot if you’re thinking about upgrading into digital snare/hat/ride later, because the 5 series module supports more digital pads. Personally, I’d still be happy on the TD-316 for value, but the 5 series makes sense if you want a clearer upgrade path.
