About This Video

In this Note Taking 101 video, I’m walking you through the simple, repeatable methods I use to take notes that are actually useful later—because pretty notes don’t help if you can’t find anything. I share how I decide what to write down (and what to skip), how I structure a page so it’s easy to scan, and the little “systems” that keep my notes from turning into a random brain dump. If you’re a Type-A planner like me, this is all about making your notes efficient, searchable, and easy to review. I also talk through the tools that support my process without overcomplicating it—like using an A6 Stalogy as a compact everyday notebook, plus simple color-coding (dots, stickers, and markers) to tag topics fast. I’m a big fan of keeping the setup lightweight so you’ll actually keep up with it, whether you’re taking notes for work, faith, learning, or life admin. The goal is to capture information clearly, organize it consistently, and make it easy to pull action items and next steps when you’re ready to plan.
