In this video I put the brand new gray impact screen in my own golf simulator and run it head-to-head against a traditional white screen. The whole point is simple: if you’ve ever looked at your sim and thought “my blacks look washed out” or “the image just doesn’t have that pop,” a gray screen might be the easiest upgrade you can make—if it actually holds up to ball strikes and doesn’t wreck brightness. I walk through what changes (and what doesn’t) when you swap from white to gray: perceived contrast, black levels, and how the picture feels in a real DIY room—not a showroom. I also call out the stuff people forget, like how projector choice and placement matter way more than most want to admit, and why you can’t judge a screen in isolation if your throw distance, lumen output, and ambient light control are all over the place.
