DIY Laundry Hacks to SAVE YOU MONEY// Frugal Living

Welcome to Pinebrook Homestead. Today is Frugal Friday where we tackle topics to save you money on everyday items. We are saving money on some DIY Laundry hacks with two DIY Non-toxic Laundry Detergent recipes. We will also be making a DIY Stain Remover. I've included all the recipes below as well as a few links to products I used. Happy Frugal Friday! ~Marie #diylaundry #savemoney #savemoneytips #frugalliving #frugalhomemaking #suburbanhomestead #suburbanhomesteading DIY Stain Remover: 1 cup water 1/2 cup baking soda 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide Place into a squirt bottle (the baking soda WILL clog up a spray bottle) Squirt on stain and let sit for 20 minutes 1) DIY Laundry Detergent. (1 gallon or 128 fluid ounces) 13 cups water 1 cup Castile Soap (liquid) 1 cup Borax 1 cup Washing Soda Bring to a boil 6 cups of water, add the soap/ Borax/ Washing Soda until dissolved. Add the rest of the 7 cups of water. Mix and let sit for 24 hours. The soap will become a gel. Scoop out 1/4 of a cup for every load. 2) DIY Laundry Detergent. 5 gallon bucket then 1:1 ratio for an easy use container 1 Bar Fels Naptha Laundry soap bar. (Too expensive on Amazon, find cheaper in grocery store) 1 cup Borax 1 cup Washing Soda Grate bar of soap and add to four cups of water...Heat and stir to dissolve Add soap to 5 gallon bucket and fill to 2.5 gallons. Add Borax and Washing Soda. Mix to dissolve. Fill the rest of the bucket to the 5 gallon mark. Let sit for 24 hours to gel up. When ready to use...stir and add the soap to container with an equal amount of water.
