Dry fruits khajoor burfi is a rich, delicious recipe of barfi prepared with dates, coconut and loads of dry fruits. Dates, popularly known as “khajoor or kajur” in India, are the fruit of date palm tree. They are cultivated all over the world especially across tropical regions. Dates are sweet and chewy, available in soft, semi-dry and dry varieties. Farmers harvest dates in early winter, so dates usually taste freshest at this time of year. Enjoy 💝 ❗❗A few tips of making this:❗❗ 🔷 Any chopped nuts will work – I have used cashew nuts, almonds, walnuts & pistachios. 🔷 If you dry roast your nuts for 2 -3, this will preserve the shelf-life of the barfi to last longer 🔷 You can use dates or date paste 🔷 Keep an eye on your poppy seeds as this browns very quickly 🔷 You can also add nutmeg & cardamom powder to this mixture (optional) 🔷 The longer you refrigerate the barfi before cutting, the better! 🔷 If you like figs (anjeer), try adding figs or fig paste to this combination. This combination works quite well. 🔷 You can mould these into any shape you like.
