Rotational Dynamics - Fixed Axis Problems

In the first problem a tension force is wrapped around a cylinder and the string is pulled causing an angular acceleration of the cylinder. In the second problem a grindstone is initially rotation at an angular velocity and an axe is brought into contact with the cylinder causing it to come to rest.
