On this beautiful January day, I dropped the Hobie in at a creek around upper Tampa Bay. It was the day before a little cold front and the fish were fired up. The bite was steady throughout the day and at one point I was hooking up on every cast. I was throwing different colored soft plastics with the favorite one being the light green tsunami swimbait. I ended up catching two upper slot redfish, over a dozen speckled trout, and even a snook to complete the slam. Even though Tampa is a heavy live bait fishery, no live bait was needed today!
