Here's some tips for getting older Nvidia GPUs working in Linux and Proton. - For GTX 900 and 1000 series, make sure to install the Nvidia proprietary drivers, not the open drivers. - For GTX 600 and 700 series, install the Nvidia 470 version drivers. - Proton requires Vulkan 1.3 compatible GPUs, but the GTX 600 and 700 series only supports Vulkan 1.2. Fortunately there's a special Proton version called Sarek which works for GPUs with at least Vulkan 1.1. Download it at its Github: https://github.com/pythonlover02/Proton-Sarek/releases/tag/Proton-Sarek10-8 (async version may provide better performance in certain games) As for the Intel Iris Pro 5200, this only supports Vulkan 1.0 so Proton Sarek isn't enough. Fortunately there's a Steam command that can translate the API to OpenGL, which the Iris Pro 5200 has good support for.
