Many musicians are using rotary pedals in mono and in my opinion that's not so good solution because the pedal then sound like a phaser and if you put it in stereo setup it has more sense because 2 amps can bring you the feel of the sound motion. It's not like a real-deal Leslie cabinet where 3D sound punch you still there is the fact of "sound motion".
