Most lawyers are not ready for what’s coming. AI is not going to wipe out the legal profession overnight. But it is going to wipe out a lot of lawyers, law jobs, and other professional careers that are built on work AI can do faster, cheaper, and better. In this video, I explain why the future is not “AI replaces all lawyers.” It’s much more brutal than that. The real divide will be between: professionals who learn how to use AI well and professionals who don’t I break down: why clients still pay for judgment, strategy, and experience why many legal tasks will be automated why some practices are “checkers” and easy to replace why other practices are more like poker and depend on human judgment and psychology why entry-level professional jobs are in serious danger and what both senior and younger professionals need to do right now to stay relevant I also use my patent practice as a real-world example to show why high-value professional work is about much more than drafting documents or filling out forms. The people who survive this shift will not just be the smartest. They will be the ones who learn how to combine deep expertise with AI.
