While the original was an acquired taste—think parmesan and truffles—this new closed-back planar magnetic headphone takes a different path. At a $399 price point, HiFiMan has swapped the premium wood for a plastic earcup design. Unfortunately, the build quality feels a bit shabby, and the sound signature suffers from a boxy, "plasticky" resonance that hinders the tonal balance. Even for dedicated audiophiles looking for a unique closed-back headphone, the Audivina LE struggles to justify its place. I compare these to the HiFiMan Sundara Closed-Back and discuss why I’d steer hi-fi enthusiasts toward alternatives like the FiiO FT1, Adam Audio H200, or Meze Audio 99 Classics.
