Rich Sepia Coffee Painting | Mixed Media Landscape

Did you know you can paint with coffee? ☕ In this mixed media tutorial, I’ll show you how I created a vintage-inspired landscape using instant coffee as paint! The sepia tones paired beautifully with touches of black charcoal, a butterfly image, and an old-fashioned teal wallpaper print. I gave everything a rich, aged look by coffee staining, then added sparkle with ink-dyed mica flakes. To finish, I created a rustic cardboard frame, also coffee stained, for the perfect vintage touch. This piece shows how everyday materials—like instant coffee and cardboard—can become beautiful mixed media art.
