Former naval officer turned Paddington Shift Manager, Simon, takes station security seriously. But his shift takes a challenging turn when station's safety is thrown into jeopardy by reports of a trespasser on the roof. In the face of this major security breach, Mobile Operations Manager, George and the British Transport Police receive an emergency call to assist in the search for the suspect who has become known as 'spiderman'.The critical job of ensuring the railway line running in and out of Paddington is in good working order falls to the Track Inspection team. Today, the technicians have a window of just an hour to inspect the half mile of track known as the Throat, where six busy lines feed into fourteen platforms. It is imperative that defects on the track are identified - otherwise it could lead to a scenario as serious as a derailment. The Western route is undergoing a multi-billion pound project to electrify the route. Today in Paddington, Great Western Railway's MD, Mark Hopwood is hosting the naming ceremony of one of the operators brand new Electric trains. It is being named after none other than the creator of Paddington Bear, the late Michael Bond. In Wales, a team of workers are gearing up to demolish a 120-year-old footbridge. The footbridge crosses four main lines between South Wales and London, and now needs to be removed to make way for the new electric wires. The team have just seventy two hours to demolish the bridge and clear away tonnes of debris, before they can hand the line back to Route Control.
