Engineers Race to Fix a Major Rail Fault | Paddington Station S2 E14 | Our Stories

When a cracked insulator causes major disruption on the railway near Maidenhead, engineers are called in to fix the problem before it brings the network to a standstill. The damaged equipment is a vital part of the electrified railway, and the team must decide whether to keep trains running or shut down the line to carry out urgent repairs. Working next to dangerous live rails, engineers race against time to prevent delays and keep services moving. Meanwhile, at Paddington, another emergency repair is discovered when rotten wooden sleepers begin to collapse underfoot. With only a four-hour window overnight, the team must replace the track before the first train in the morning.
