In the second episode the emphasis is on building a positive relationship with children. The fourth family is the Goldie's from Northampton. Mark and Jackie have a daughter, six-year-old Elizabeth. Born four months premature, a life-saving drug left Elizabeth profoundly deaf. Since then Jackie has over-compensated by spoiling her. Elizabeth lives by only one set of rules - her own. Professor Sanders turns the tables on the parents. He suggests that if they want well-behaved children, they must start themselves, by being nicer, using praise and by spending time together. .
