Season’s greetings, my friends! In this WinCo grocery shopping haul, I’m sharing a smaller (but still kinda pricey) weekly haul that’s really all about Christmas week and everything we’ve got going on—tamales, cookie baking, and a couple easy comfort-food nights when I’m just tired and overwhelmed with all the wrapping, baking, working, and keeping up the house. I went to WinCo because it’s been a hot minute (like at least a year) and I truly missed it—especially for meat when I don’t want to buy in bulk like Costco. I’m making my grandma’s tamales, so I grabbed masa, pork shoulder, lard, chicken broth, and garlic (she always boiled a bunch of garlic for the shredded pork). They didn’t have the red chili sauce I wanted, so I’m doing California chili pods plus a red sauce I ordered from Walmart. I also picked up lots of baking staples (flour, sugar, powdered sugar), plus ingredients for my stovetop mac and cheese (my daughter’s favorite), and my cranberry orange loaf (it’s festive and honestly kind of “refreshing” for a dessert table). And because it’s Christmas season, we’re doing pizza night for Home Alone 1 and 2—WinCo pizza dough and sauce make it so easy.
