This trip got off to a slow start. Nick got a cool Quillback Rockfish which was the largest he had ever caught before it was released. While on anchor, an Alaska State Trooper “pulled us over” for a license check and made sure we were equipped with life jackets. The Trooper was courteous and wished us luck. She must have been lucky because a few hours later, I caught my new PB Halibut at 50 pounds just 2 minutes before we were going to leave!
